Ugh. Why, oh why, is this story surprising, anyone? More importantly, why did the parents of Miley not see this coming? Vanity Fair has a history of provocative shots. I’m sure they said and did everything they could to convince the parents that everything would be ‘innocent.’ Now, they’re milking the pictures, and the controversy, for all it’s worth! Meanwhile, everyone seems to be in a hissy-fit on how Miley finally sold out to the Stupid Spoiled Whore crowd.

OK, so the picture itself is pretty provocative. (Surprising that it’s Miley, not surprising it’s Vanity Fair.) I agree that, looking at it for what it’s worth, it’s artistic. Unfortunately, that’s not how other people see it. They see it as the beginnings of a little slut. (Which, is a shame.) Since ‘art’ is in the eye of the beholder, Miley’s parents should have recognized that and known that this would have caused a firestorm. Yet, maybe that’s what they wanted? At any rate, I know I wasn’t holding my breath in terms of Miley becoming a stupid spoiled whore, and neither should anyone else have, either.
