“I Believe” Plates Coming To Florida?
April 24, 2008
/facepalm
The wonderful state of Florida is wanting its citizens to be able to purchase special vanity plates that basically endorses Christianity. (To answer that question in the back of your mind, no, they aren’t supporting any other religions at this time.) Check out the link to the CNN article HERE, and you can see a preview of what the plate would look like. I doubt anyone looking at the plate would think anything other than, “Oh look! A Christian! HOORAY!!!”
If Florida Offered More Choices…
I would be OK with the idea. No, really, think about it. If Florida had more diverse choices, like for other religions, or atheists, why not? Will Florida ever do that? Probably not. (Judging from the state’s past history.) At least one person feels it’s inappropriate for the state to do this, and that’s Rep. Kelly Skidmore. She said:
“It’s not a road I want to go down. I don’t want to see the Star of David next. I don’t want to see a Torah next. None of that stuff is appropriate to me,” said Skidmore, a Democrat who voted against the plate in committee. “I just believe that.”
Good for her! (Err, she may be prejudice, in how her wording sounds, but at least the message is the same.) I suppose though that there are many other ways to make a statement about what your beliefs are. You could slap a bumper sticker on the back, or get one of those thingies you can stick to the car. (An emblem is that I think I’m looking for here.) I know for myself, even if I was offered some kind of ‘rainbow’ vanity plate, I don’t think I’d even bother. I know I always laugh at the people who basically try to turn their vehicle into a way to cram their beliefs down people’s throats as it is.

BEWARE CHRISTIANS. There may be more to the story than what meets the eye. In a time when our government has so eagerly pushed GOD out of the countries public eye why are they now handing out these plates. I believe we have been so eager to show or LOVE and support for GOD that we haven’t consider what may be under the surface every one needs to stop and think before buying one that what we may in fact have done by buying these is marked ourselves for the anti-christ who’s time is near a simple search on the computer and millions of us may easily be rounded up stop and think before buying one make him work for it.
