I had a bit of time to read yet another blog from Bettina Berlin. (One of the few personal friends I know who publish at least one blog a week.) Bettina talks about how it seems like some people are tired of what she has to say. (I’m at work, so I can’t do any direct quotes at the moment.) Well, it got me to thinking…
I really enjoy people who speak their minds, and speak from the heart. Too often these days people will just speak to be heard, but don’t really mean what they say. *coughtedhaggardcough* Instead of pulling some really ignorant stunts, like the Westboro Church Group, they spout all kinds of crap because, believe it or not, there are people out there who are actually enthralled with what they say. (And, will often pay big money just to be in the audience with them.)
When I write, I try to basically pull the random thoughts floating around my head, wrangle them into sentences, and then stick those into paragraphs. Everything I write is exactly how I’m feeling at that moment. That’s sometimes bad, because I can often change my mind on the subject if/when I get additional information. (Isn’t that how it should be anyways?) True, what I write may never get read, or people may disagree with what I have to say, but the point is, I say it. I speak my mind for the world to absorb.
So, I would say that I want Bettina to continue to say whatever she damn well pleases. Continue to talk about politics, racism, gay issues, entertainment, or whatever is on your mind. I may not always comment, but I always take a peek every week at your MySpace blog. (Though truth be told, I’m a bit over-whelmed at the politics lately.) Say it loud, say it proud girl!
